The Martinique Access'île association is an organizer of adapted stays for people with disabilities. For 7 years, we have been campaigning so that disabled people living in Martinique can appropriate the territory of Martinique by discovering or re-discovering discovering all the activities offered by this beautiful island: hiking, beaches, sea trips and many more. In addition, we want to increase the arrival in Martinique of disabled tourists from Europe and elsewhere such as Canada, who are also people with disabilities, so that they realize all the wealth of the island.
This is how our fight also consists in selecting tourism partners who accept to receive disabled people with dignity by arranging their reception areas (hotels, restaurants, etc.)

TELL THE WORLD: "MARTINIQUE ALSO PROMOTS TOURISM AND DISABILITY"
On this occasion, the Association Martinique Access'île wishes to participate in the 2nd World Summit of Accessible Tourism on October 1-2, 2018. This global event is a place of exchange, sharing of experiences and privileged meetings between tourism operators , suppliers, institutions, associations, service providers and actors in the field.
In October 2014, at the initiative of the Canadian Kéroul Association which acts to make tourism and culture accessible to people with reduced mobility and under the aegis of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), was held in Montreal the first edition of the World Summit on Accessible Tourism. At the end of this Summit, they adopted the Declaration “One world for all”. Available in 10 languages, the “One World for All” Declaration includes 40 concrete measures to implement the UNWTO recommendations for accessible tourism. The declaration is a real action plan at local, national and international level, promoting the accessibility of infrastructure, buildings and tourist services.

This is a real opportunity for Martinique because we negotiated and obtained an interesting proposal to participate in the event.
Martinique is already expected at this event thanks to our excellent international contacts, especially in Canada.
As proof, Kéroul, a Quebec organization which aims to "make tourism and culture accessible to people with restricted physical ability", has placed Martinique as one of the destinations likely to welcome this type of traveler.
We have the potential to demonstrate to the world that even if our island is small, diversity in all its forms reigns in Martinique and beauty is always present. This is why we want so much to be present at the 2nd World Summit on Accessible Tourism.
I am Noël CICALINI, disabled founder of the Martinique Access'île association. For 7 years, I have been fighting with our members and partners so that people who suffer from a handicap and who live in Martinique can discover, re-discover the island of flowers in better conditions.
For our association Martinique Access'île, it is also a question of making discover Martinique to tourists from Europe, the USA, and especially Canada.
Martinique Access'île is also involved in the following actions:
- Evaluator for the Tourism and Handicap state mark at the CMT (Martinique Committee of Tourism) and on the development of natural sites of the ONF (National Forestry Office)
- Design and studies of projects with the ONF and on accessible developments in natural sites.
- Support of structures in the labeling of the state mark "Tourism and Handicap"
- Establishment of partnerships to develop services for tourists with disabilities with:
* Travel agencies specializing in disability.
* hotels and restaurants (Bambou Hotel)
* car rental agencies equipped for the transport of disabled people
* medical equipment rental companies
Establishment of leisure activities for the disabled public within valid structures:
(tandem free fall, sea trips, diving, accessible tours etc.)
- Welcoming trainees in training
In 2018, Martinique Access'île is pleased to present the creation of the first tourist guide to Martinique for people with disabilities.
