CORONAVIRUS hits Martinique head-on.
The situation is difficult in hospitals, clinics and the majority of players in the medical field who are mobilized in the field and who put their lives in danger to protect ours and fight against the coronavirus.
On March 25, the CLINIQUE SAINT-PAUL in Martinique launched its cry of alarm.
The cruel lack of resources, the shortages of medical equipment which are happening ... All current stocks are insufficient.
And the Safety of nursing staff is therefore compromised!
It is up to each of us to show solidarity, to act urgently in order to help them!
Martinique has moved to stage 3 of the epidemic which means that a health crisis is happening.
This is why our startup, Karaib 3D, leader in 3D printing in Martinique, decided to use technology to protect healthcare personnel.
3D PRINTED VISORS
We want to make our contribution as much as possible by making protective equipment available free of charge to CHUs, clinics, nursing homes, etc.: 3D printed visors.
Thanks to our machine park, we can produce up to 100 reusable visors per day.
Bureau Vallée has agreed to provide us with transparent films to clip onto the visors.
ADAPTERS FOR DECATHLON MASKS
We also know that there is a dire shortage of respirators in Martinique.
If it becomes necessary, we will also be able to manufacture adapters for Decathlon diving masks in order to transform them into respirators in the event of a shortage in the resuscitation departments concerned.
Support our initiative. Protect our healthcare workers who fight for us. We usually need it. But today, even more given the global health crisis we are experiencing.
Help them by staying confined but help us protect them from the virus!
The funds will be used to purchase the raw material needed to make the visors and place orders as soon as possible.
The 3D visors we manufacture have already proven themselves. These visors are robust and attach to the head without additional accessories. They are easily worn with FFP2 type protective masks and / or prescription glasses.
The base of the visor is reusable: it can be cleaned and disinfected conventionally. This is a real opportunity to effectively protect health personnel.
We will do our best to produce as many visors as possible within the tight deadlines imposed by the spread of the virus. This is why we need to have more raw materials to manufacture the visors and be sure of the effectiveness of the visors.
Karaib 3D is a Martinican company specializing in 3D printing in the West Indies.
The company has been in existence for 2 years now and fights every day to bring local manufacturing solutions to West Indian people and West Indian businesses victims of insularity.
The two co-managers are experts in the field: Estelle has a doctorate in biomedical engineering specializing in signal and image processing, and William is a doctor in mechanical engineering specializing in 3D design and composite materials.
We are committed to putting our youth, our technological know-how at the service of our island, Martinique.
